Praised for his “astounding dexterity” (Sarasota Observer News), William Yeh is a graduate of the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, where he studied under Leone Buyse. He earned his bachelor's degree in music with a minor in accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles, studying with Denis Bouriakov. His additional mentors include Erin Bouriakov, Diana Morgan, and Darin Ishimatsu.

William has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel, Fort Worth Symphony, Berkeley Symphony, Symphony San Jose, Marin Symphony, Boise Philharmonic Orchestra, BroadwaySF Orchestra, and Pacific Chamber Orchestra. He held the third flute/piccolo position with both the American Youth Symphony and the Young Musicians Foundation Debut Orchestra—pre-professional training orchestras in Los Angeles—for two seasons. He has been an instrumental fellow at the National Repertory Orchestra, Festival of Winds, Sarasota Music Festival, Conducting Institute Lab Orchestra, and Eastern Music Festival, where he was selected as a concerto competition finalist. William has participated in numerous recording sessions, including The Leader (Navona Records), Kassandra (PARMA Recordings), and Transcendent (AANMI Los Angeles Ensemble), which was recorded at the Capitol Records Building.

William won first prize in the Seattle Flute Society's 2022 Paul Taub Young Artist Competition. He received the silver medal in the 2022 Young Texas Artists Music Competition (W.B.P.H.G. Category), placed second in the San Diego Flute Guild’s 2025 Young Artist Competition, and was named the alternate for the 2022 Shepherd School of Music Winds & Brass Concerto Competition. He was a quarterfinalist in the National Flute Association's 2022 Young Artist Competition and was named the semifinalist alternate in 2024. In 2014, he made his solo debut with the San Jose Youth Symphony and the Fremont High School Wind Ensemble. William received honorable mention in UCLA’s All-Star Concerto Competition in 2017 and is a proud recipient of UCLA's Shera and Peter Falk/Lt. Columbo Memorial Scholarship.
